Shoe Storage Solution for Bedroom with no Closet

My bedroom is in the loft of my family’s house. Therefore, it is quite large, but has no closet!!

I have a tacky metal clothing rack from a drapery company, but I have a lot of clothes so it’s quite covered and doesn’t look too bad.

I have a lot of accessories, shoes, bags, etc. (I’m a girl, come on!), but no where to put my junk. So basically, right now the futon I have in my room beside my bed is my storage unit. Does anyone have any creative clothes organizing and shoe storage solutions for my bedroom?

I mean like cute boxes for magazines, something for jewellery, etc. People usually have closets, and they put big nice organizers in there, but since I’m someone who doesn’t have a handy closet, I need ideas!! Please help :)

why dont u just get a set of dresser drawers? u could find cute ones and for jewlery, a jewlery box and for other things, u can get cardbord boxes and cover them in wrapping paper

    Ideas:
1] stacking baskets/bins etc. [ even milk crates for large items ] – really cute ones at baby superstores and pbteen
2] underbed storage, for bed and futon – measure before you buy anything – try Kmart, Walmart, etc
3] color coded caboodles [ or equivalent ] for hair products/accessories; skin care, even jewelry – google it

For small jewelry, I use the clear plastic boxes people buy to store beads or fishing flies in. There are several, each with a different theme (red, wood, sparkly, etc.).

For bulky necklaces, I have a bunch of push pins on the wall, and hang the necklaces there. The tacks are staggered to spread things out, and the necklaces look rather pretty.

Are you using the space under your futon? You can buy under-bed bins, or use the large, sturdy cardboard flats that oranges and other produce come in. They can be spray painted, or covered with decorative paper, on the visible edges.

When we moved into our current house, the master bedroom was mysteriously missing a closet, so we had to build our own.

I bought an over-the-door shelf + hooks for towels and robes, a mahogany drawer unit that mounted to the wall the wall, an under-bed shoe organizer (for my wife…), and tons of other organizing products.

As far jewelry storage, here’s a good site that can help you find something that fits your space. There’s also some good prices on really cool looking storage pieces for jewelry. Hope that helps
